Your plan

The issue page: steps, the research agent, the chat, and background updates.

Anatomy of a plan

Opening an issue from your dashboard gives you its plan page. That page is the home for everything about one issue: the summary, the steps, the research, the conversation, and anything the background agent has since found out.

At the top: the summary Voci wrote, a done counter, and Show original description, which brings back the text you originally typed. Under Actions you will find sharing, people, and deletion.

The step list

Your plan is the ordered list of steps. Each row shows the kind of action, the title, a sentence or two on what to do and why, and — usually — a Target: the office or role that step is aimed at.

  • Tick the checkbox to mark a step complete. It updates immediately and syncs in the background, so it works fine on a bad connection.
  • Open the step editor to draft and send. That is where the real work happens — Working a step covers it in full.
  • Order is a suggestion. Steps are sequenced easiest and most impactful first, but nothing is locked. Do the third one first if that is the one with a deadline.

The research agent

Run research sends an agent to search the web and come back with a brief on your issue: who actually decides it, key dates, recent news, and the arguments you will be up against. It usually takes 30 to 60 seconds.

You do not have to sit and watch. The brief is written into your issue as soon as it is ready, so the panel fills in on its own even if you navigate away. Every brief comes with its Sources listed — follow them before you rely on anything in a letter.

If a run does not finish — a timeout, a dropped connection — Re-run starts a fresh one.

Asking questions

Ask a question is a chat grounded in this specific issue and in whatever the research agent found. Use it for the things a plan cannot anticipate: who to push on, what the timeline really is, how to frame your letter, what the other side will say.

Answers are deliberately short — a couple of hundred words at most — and the whole conversation is kept with the issue, so you can come back to it. Sixty messages a day.

Background updates

Once a day, Voci checks your active issues for developments — votes, hearings, rulings, news — and records anything genuinely new under Updates. Each entry has a headline, the detail, and its sources.

New ones raise a new badge on the dashboard until you read them; Mark all as seen clears it. If nothing has happened, nothing is added — an empty updates panel means the world has been quiet, not that the check failed.

The inline letter shortcut

For a letter step you do not have to leave the plan page. Generate letter drafts it right there, streaming as it writes, and gives you Copy and send without a page change. Open step editor takes you to the full editor when you want personalization questions, saving, and outcome logging.

Deleting a plan

ActionsDelete project, with a confirmation. This removes the issue and everything attached to it — steps, drafts, research, chat, updates — and cannot be undone.

Who can delete
The owner only. Collaborators can work the plan but not remove it.
Does it free a project slot?
No. The monthly allowance counts projects created, so deleting one does not give the slot back.
